Our History

About our Founder- Ann Gettys

Ann's son was born with a rare lung disease called Neuro-Endocrine Hyperplasia of Infancy (NEHI). Her son struggled to breath and needed oxygen at night to support his growth and development. The problem was her son refused to wear his cannula. Bed time and nap time became a battle of wills that left mom and son both physically and emotionally exhausted. Ann built the first OPOD prototype to make it possible for their entire family to sleep easier. Her experiences sparked a passion for finding ways to improve the lives of other families and patients living with pediatric lung disease.

Where we are today

Ann partnered with DesignWise Medical, Inc in Minnesota to create a prototype and do initial development. Along with the help of several student engineering teams, the OPOD was taken from its initial crude model to a patented working prototype.

Now we are seeking funding to refine the imaging system and do the required performance safety and performance testing to get FDA approval.
